Day 5 - The First Sign

We read today of the first of the "signs" John recorded of Jesus (11). Ryken says in the Literary Study Bible that John uses the word "signs" to signify that Jesus' miracles are not merely physical events, but also spiritual symbols about the truth of Jesus. This is the first of seven signs that form the first half of this particular Gospel. You may want to add a chart for these "signs" too - or perhaps underline them with a different color ink in your Bible so you can see where they are easily. The story today is NOT about the wine, but about Jesus. We see Jesus declaring through action that He is indeed the Son of God. And we also read in verse 11 that He manifested His glory and that His
disciples believed in Him. We have proof that now Jesus is the Son of God. Today, the disciples believed.
