Reformation Celebration: Sola Scriptura

Verse: Matthew 7:24-25
Hymn: How Firm a Foundation

If you have already mastered singing The B-I-B-L-E with your children, here is a hymn on the Word being completely sufficient for what we need. By Sola Scriptura, we mean that God's Word ALONE is our guiding Rule for faith and practice. We do not need new visions or messages from God. We have His good, true, and complete Word.  As you sing, pay attention to the progression of the text.
  • Stanza 1 - God's Word is completely sufficient and we need hear NOTHING else than what He has said in the Bible.
  • Stanzas 2-4 God speaks directly to us in the first person (Isaiah 41:10; 43:2; Zechariah 13:9)
  • Stanza 5 is the Christian's declaration (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:38-39; Hebrews 13:5-6)
